Yoga Sequencing App for Teachers

Āsana/OS is a yoga sequencing app built for teachers who plan and lead their own classes. It lets you drag poses into a class, cue students hands-free from a phone or tablet in play mode, and share sequences with a community of other teachers. It replaces the notebook, spreadsheet and camera-roll screenshots that most teachers stitch together before every class.

What does a yoga sequencing app do?

A yoga sequencing app is a tool that turns the private work of planning a class — choosing poses, ordering them into a flow, timing the transitions, remembering your cues — into something you can build, save and teach from directly.

The core jobs it does for a teacher:

  • Assemble a class from a searchable library of poses instead of a blank page.
  • Order poses into an arc — warm-up, peak, cool-down — and adjust timing per pose.
  • Store cues, breath counts and modifications so you don't teach the same class from memory twice.
  • Play the sequence back on the day, reading cues aloud so you're not staring at a phone.
  • Print or export a clean outline for cover teachers, workshops and teacher trainings.

Who is Āsana/OS for?

Āsana/OS is for practising yoga teachers who write their own classes — not for students looking for a class to follow.

  • Studio teachers who plan two to ten classes a week and want them out of the notebook.
  • Independent teachers running workshops, retreats and privates who need clean outlines.
  • Newly qualified teachers who want a pose library, cue prompts and structure while they find their voice.
  • Teacher trainers who want to share reference sequences with a cohort.

Vinyasa teachers usually land on the vinyasa sequence builder first; teachers searching more broadly may want the yoga class planning app overview, which covers printable outlines and Play Mode. For teaching-craft rather than tooling, read how to sequence a class around a peak pose.

How is this different from planning in a spreadsheet or Notion?

A spreadsheet or a Notion page can hold the words of a class, but it can't teach with you — no pose library, no timed play mode, no way for another teacher to save your sequence with credit.

Is Āsana/OS free?

No — Āsana/OS is a paid app, $30 per month or $300 per year, with a seven-day free trial. There is no ad-supported tier and no free plan that harvests your sequences for training data.

The reason is straightforward: the app is built for the craft of teaching, not for engagement metrics. Charging teachers directly means we can spend time on the pose library, cue quality and play mode instead of on growth loops and ads. See pricing for the full breakdown.

How do I build my first sequence?

You can have a teachable sequence in about ten minutes. The path most new teachers take:

  1. Sign up and open a new sequence from your library.
  2. Pick a theme — hips, backbends, wind-down — and either drag poses in one at a time or let the auto-builder seed a first draft.
  3. Order the arc: warm-up, build, peak, cool-down, savasana. Adjust breath counts or seconds on each pose.
  4. Add your cues and any modifications on the poses that matter most in the class.
  5. Open play mode and rehearse the class once through so the timing feels right in your body.
  6. Teach from it — leave the phone on the mat and move with the room.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any equipment beyond my phone to teach with Āsana/OS?
No. A phone or tablet with a browser is enough. Play mode reads your cues aloud and advances between poses on a timer, so you can leave the device on your mat and teach from wherever you are in the room.
Can I import sequences I already teach?
Yes. Start a new sequence and drop the poses in one by one from the library, or use the auto-builder to seed a class from a theme and edit from there. There is no bulk spreadsheet import — the library is the source of truth for pose names and cues.
Does it work for styles other than Vinyasa?
Yes. The pose library covers Hatha, Yin, restorative and slow flow shapes as well as Vinyasa. Timing between poses is per-sequence, so a 90-second Yin hold and a five-breath Warrior II both fit.
Can students see my sequences?
Only if you publish them to the community. Everything you build is private by default. When you do publish, other teachers can save, remix and credit your work.
What happens to my sequences if I cancel?
Your account stays, your sequences stay, and you can export a printable outline of any class. You lose access to play mode and to publishing new sequences until you resubscribe.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new account gets seven days of full access, no card required up front. After that Āsana/OS is $30/month or $300/year.
