About Āsana/OS

What is Āsana/OS?

+

Āsana/OS is a class-planning and playback tool built for yoga teachers. It gives you a pose library with cues and alignment notes, a sequence builder that lets you drag poses into a class, a hands-free Play Mode so you can teach from your mat without holding a phone, and a place to save mini-sequences you reuse week after week.

Who is Āsana/OS for?

+

It is built for yoga teachers — studio teachers, private teachers, teachers on training courses, and anyone who plans classes ahead of time and wants those plans to be usable in the room. It is not designed as a general fitness app for students.

How is Āsana/OS different from other yoga apps?

+

Most yoga apps are built for students following a video. Āsana/OS is the opposite: the app assumes you are the teacher. Everything — the pose library, the sequence builder, the voiceover cues, the mini-sequences, the Play Mode views — is designed to help you plan a class in one sitting and then teach it hands-free.

Who built Āsana/OS?

+

Āsana/OS is built by a yoga teacher, for yoga teachers. The pose library, cues, and voiceover notes are written from a teacher's perspective rather than pulled from generic reference material.

Planning classes

How do I build a class in Āsana/OS?

+

Open the Class Builder, add poses from the searchable library, drag them into the order you want, and set a duration for each pose. You can group poses into repeats (e.g. right side / left side), drop in saved mini-sequences, and use the Inspire Me tool to generate a starting outline that you then customise.

What is a mini-sequence?

+

A mini-sequence is a short group of poses you use again and again — a sun salutation variation, a warm-up sequence, a peak pose prep. You save it once in your library and then drop it into any class in a single tap, and it expands into individual poses in the builder and in Play Mode.

Can I add my own poses?

+

Yes. You can create custom poses with your own name, Sanskrit, cue, category, and duration, and they sit alongside the built-in library in your sequences.

How does Inspire Me work?

+

Inspire Me generates a six-pose class outline — grounding pose, opening pranayama, warm-up, peak, seated cool-down, and Corpse Pose — that you then flesh out yourself. It is a starting scaffold, not a full auto-generated class.

Can I print my class plan?

+

Yes. Every sequence has a printable sheet view with the full pose list, durations, and cues, formatted so it stays legible on paper. Repeated groups collapse to save space (e.g. "Repeat 3× R/L") instead of listing every pose.

Teaching with Play Mode

Can I teach a class hands-free?

+

Yes — that is what Play Mode is designed for. It runs your sequence with a timer, an optional voiceover of the cues for each pose, a right-side / left-side prompt, and a preview of the coming-next pose. You can put your phone on the floor and teach from your mat.

What view options does Play Mode have?

+

Four views: Focus (minimal, one pose at a time), Teach (current pose plus what is coming next), Large (high-contrast, extra-large text and side glyph for when your phone is on the floor), and Playlist (adds your Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube embed).

Does the voiceover use a real voice?

+

Voiceover uses ElevenLabs voices with several options to choose from. Cues are read from the long-form voiceover notes attached to each pose, so what you hear is what a teacher would actually say — not a generic pose name.

Can I turn the timer off?

+

Yes. Loose classes let you disable the timer entirely and advance manually to the next pose whenever you are ready — useful for workshops, privates, and any class that does not run on a fixed clock.

Which side am I on right now?

+

Every view in Play Mode shows a right-side or left-side prompt so you don't lose track mid-class. In Large view the side glyph is extra big for phone-on-floor teaching.

Can I add my own music?

+

Yes. In Playlist view you can paste a Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube playlist link and it embeds directly into the play screen alongside your poses.

Account and syncing

Do my classes sync between devices?

+

Yes. Sequences, mini-sequences, custom poses, and preferences sync to your account. If you edit on one device and then open another, the newer edit wins so you don't lose work.

Does Āsana/OS work offline?

+

The core plan-and-teach flow — library, sequences, Play Mode — works offline once loaded. Cloud sync happens whenever you are back online. Voiceover requires a connection to fetch new audio, but cached audio replays offline.

Is my class content private?

+

Yes. Your sequences, mini-sequences, and custom poses are private to your account by default. You can share a specific class via a share link if you want to, but nothing is public unless you choose to make it so.

Pricing and trial

How much does Āsana/OS cost?

+

$30 per month after a 7-day free trial. Cancel any time during the trial and you are not charged.

Do I need a credit card to start the trial?

+

Yes — the trial uses a card on file so it rolls straight into a paid subscription if you keep using it. You can cancel any time inside the trial with no charge.

How do I cancel?

+

Open your account page and cancel from there. Cancelling stops future billing at the end of your current period; you keep access until then.

Do you offer refunds?

+

See the refunds page for the current policy — the short version is that the 7-day trial exists so you can decide before you are charged.

Safety

Is Āsana/OS safe to teach from?

+

Āsana/OS is a planning and playback tool, not a substitute for teacher training. The cues, alignment notes, and modifications are guidance. You are responsible for the safety of your students, for adapting poses to their bodies, and for referring students to a physician when appropriate.

Can students use Āsana/OS on their own?

+

The app is built for teachers, but nothing stops a student from using it. If you do, please read the safety page and use every pose at your own risk — the app is not a replacement for a qualified teacher.
